See this link.

I've done it on two mid-'60s Chevy trucks and am about to do it on my '52 3/4 ton.

Joe if possible would you be ever so kind to document the swap you do this time and post it for all to see. Thanks.

Sure will. My son-in-law wants to help with it and will be here over the Thanksgiving holiday, so I'm hoping/expecting it will happen then.

Hello Joe thanks for the link looks good to me although I've heard from a local fellow that it may be too wide Any comments?

Yes, the '73-'87 front and rear ends are wide for an AD truck. They fit fine in mid-'60s trucks.

I'm still wrassling with the wheel question. I was told in another thread that wheels from '93 3/4 ton had a lot of backset, but when I called an all-GM truck wrecking yard the fellow there said no. I guess I'll have to go there with a tape measure next time I'm in the big city.

Since I'm swapping both ends for later model stuff, I can use the same wheels all the way around once I find them. If I can't find a stock wheel that works, I'll have wheels built by Stockton Wheel. They can do pretty much anything, for a price.
