Ordered a fuel pump from RockAuto installed it on my truck and then noticed the in and out ports are on the opposite sides from mine. 50 216 engine. They will refund and pay return cost but I’m out the shipping cost I paid.
To save time and money you can just take it apart and turn the body around on the base. Here it is opened up.
The QC at the Chinese slave labor fuel pump factory is a bit lacking.

Unless it's crimped together, you should be able to remove the screws holding the top on and turn it around. Inlet and outlet can be repositioned on the ones that are screwed together (rebuildable.)

It has screws, I thought something was crazy about it cause the fuel lines would have to loop around the pump for it to pump fuel in the right direction. I’m gonna take a shot at it tomorrow and see if I can turn it in the right direction.
Very good to know. Would have never thought about turning the body around.
