When I pulled the throttle linkage off it's post on the engine block to change out the old oil filter lines, the clip went flying and I've not been able to locate it on the driveway. I used a magnet to see if I could pick it up, but it didn't work. So, now I'm trying to figure out what that wire clip is called so I can find another one. It's sort of shaped like an A without the line crossing through the middle. It pushes down and around the 3/8" post just under and behind the carb and manifold. I know, this is a pretty sad description, but it's the best I can do. I've come across this type of keeper clip before, but I never did know what they're called. Wish I had a picture, but I don't. Thanks for any help

Go to Ace Hardware and look at their selection of Clevis Pins (aka hairpins aka R Clips, aka hitch clips), C Clips and E Clips
I hope it didn't go down the carburetor throat.

Thanks, Otto, I ended up using a c-clip like you posted above. I went ahead and did a search and checked out the 'images', and saw two different engines that were each using one of what your showing above. I have a box of various size c-clips here at the house, and some of the R clips (what I call them, anyway) down at our property for the tractor and implements. I put a 3/8" on there and it seems to work. We'll see. But thank you again for getting back so quickly. Lee
ps- it didn't go down the carb. It's way down below that just above the oil pan flange.
