Recently took out the lift unit and had the cylinders turned down, re-chromed and re sealed. Original copper plumbing was upgraded where needed to steel. Now I’m smoothing torched edges and degreasing in order to paint and reinstall. LHJ signed his work with a center punch when he cobbled this rig together in the mid to late 60’s.
With an original piece like that, I would take the plumbing off and sent to be blasted and powered coated to the original color. I’ve been doing this to all of my hard to find parts as I slowly redo everything. Just my opinion, Jim
