Hi folks, I have replaced my firewall with a "smooth" style panel and am having difficulty determining the hood hinge mount holes. If anyone can give me some ideas it would be appreciated. Can you give me some measurements where the upper bolts are located in relation to the top of the cowl and outer edge of the cowl? Also any pics would be great. Maybe distance between the hinges also? My body guy is having trouble locating the holes. My suggestion was to put the hinges on the hood and that would get us close, But he is wanting some measurements. Thanks in advance. Doug.
The 47-54 FAM has those hole locations, with both horizontal and vertical dimensions, so I'm assuming the later FAM would also have them.

The datum is the face of the dash (firewall), at least on the AD series FAM. So hopefully the replacement firewall got put back in the same place. But you could reference off another point that's defined in the figure. But if the firewall is in a different spot front to back, that might throw off the hinge locations completely. I'm not familiar with the later hinge mounting.

Here you go..... From driver side bottom door hinge hole, the bottom hood hinge hole is 24.03 (24 1/32), and bottom hood hinge hole is 8.61 (8 39/64) towards center of truck from bottom door hinge hole. Passenger side is mirror of that.

Sorry for using the acronym. I should have realized that a newbie wouldn't know what it meant.

Truth is hood fit from the factory new was hit and miss. Good enough for a truck was the order of the day.
After disassembly and 50 years of use ……..hood fit is challenging. Your playing to X,Y and Z positioning of every component of the front end and cab. 1/8- 1/4” left or right of the radiator support means 1” at the cowl.
There are @ least 40 variables in play in hood, cowl and fender fit…….there in lays the challenge. Then add the tolerance stacking and aftermarket parts.
Several of the professional builds on TV and YouTube spend hours fixing the front fit and gaps.
