Darn! Looks like you got it straight from the local Fire Department. What engine does it have and how high does the ladder reach? You have this disease as bad as I do! Think we will ever find a cure? More pictures please.

Only tilt the cab up on flat ground and never open a cab door before or after tilting the cab. Does it have the hard throttle linkage or a cable setup? Make sure it is neutral before tilting the cab. The gear shift will hit when you go to lower the cab if it is gear. Don't ask me how I know!

702ci. V12(main reason I bought it), air brakes, 8889 act. miles, no rust issues, 75 ft. ladder. It was originally owned new at the Jackson, Wis. Fire Department. I purchased it from the Widow of a collector here in N.C. It was only 75 miles from me, the last 20 years. Not quite sure what I'm going to do with it. This years Christmas Parade probably first up ? Hey Mike, I didn't see this coming either. Lol

Looks like it was passed down to the Milan (Wis) Fire Department. Definitely a cool rig. Like most fire trucks, didn't see much use. That's less than 150 miles per year of it's life.

Cool truck Spanky! That V12 will pass anything but a gas station...lol. With only 8k miles it's just now broke in! And like Don said, learning where to put the gear shift lever when tilting the cab is a learning curve. Also, don't forget to remove items from the package shelf so they don't fall into the windshield and break it when tilting...
My 1970 Chevy 'Fire Engine' Tilt Cab had a 427 V8 with 5+2 and Air Brakes while the 1970 Chevy 'Utility Company Line Truck' Tilt Cab had the GMC 478 V6 with 5 + 2 and Hydraulic Brakes. Both trucks had 250 HP and 420 ft lb of torque with max speed of about 52 mph. The GMC ran like a diesel making tons of HP and torque at about 1600 rpm.
Darn Spanky! Our ladder is only 65 feet and has the 637 gas V-8. That twin six would be the Cats Meow in my book! Please keep the pictures coming and the learning curve info as you go forward.

Edit: I don’t see any out riggers on it and it looks like it does not have a water tank?

Awesome! My dad was retired fireman, and I always wanted to buy one and pull up in front and say, “ hey dad let’s go for a ride”. I was younger then and didn’t have the $ for one. Do you need a CDL to drive one or just regular license?
In Missouri I put Historic tags on the fire truck with air brakes. No CDL needed. Other states could be different.

Nice truck. As a former fireman, I am attracted to old fire trucks. There is always a story to them. It will make a great flag pole. Just about as much fun as owning a tow truck. Jim
