How and where are the fenders on a 1940 Chevy PU supported. I see no indication of any braces on the front fenders and the usual suppliers have two for the rear. One that attaches to the frame rails then to the lower portion of the outside edge of the fender while the other support fastens to the top fender bolt then to the outside edge of the fender.

Pictures and Comments are appreciated…

Thanks,

Mike

Mike, here is my front fender brace. I had to take 2 pictures to get each side in the photo. Hope you can make sense of it. 1st is lip of fender, 2nd is inner.

Thanks,

Do you have any pictures of the rear supports?
The suppliers show 2 different braces for the rear.

Here is the rear. I used both. One at the top about in line with the axle. The rear is about a foot from the bottom. I seem to recall the '40 used 2 rivets to attach at the rear. The guy I had work the fenders decided to weld them to prevent any cracking of the paint with rivets. I've also read some using a bolt that resembles the rivet. Not sure if using both was standard either. The setup I have seems to work fine. Hope this helps.
