Got around to updating my 6bt before putting it back in my 55.2 GMC. Working between our weekly snow storms, I put in new governor springs to upgrade RPM before defueling occurs. Removed and replaced tamperproof screws. Took the AFC apart to slightly increase rack travel, inserted next step fuel plate to match manual transmission HP rating. Replaced valve springs to match the governor RPM increase. Replaced head bolts with studs which requires removing part of the rocker arm pedestal to allow room for nuts. Adjusted valves after all else.

Ed, sounds like a nice set of upgrades. 3K or 4k governor springs? Also are you running a stock HX35 turbo? I've been tinkering with my 5.9 for the past 20 plus years and find it's always a challenge to keep smoke down when in your country. My goal is to run pretty much smoke free and on my home range (elevation 300') it's pretty easy. But with a 12k trailer on the old truck, and at 5,000 plus feet it's sometimes a little smokey.
