I got mixed up with a person who said he could, and would rebuild the engine in my truck. This was a local NAPA Dealer and I took him at his word, which I now know was a mistake. He has had the motor for almost one year, and I can't get him to finish it, or return it to me. Fortunately, I have a second motor which I think is probably better than the one I took to him. At this point all I am out is a old rusty motor that was stuck when I delivered it. Thank goodness I haven't given him any money. At this point I think I am just going to walk away from that motor and let him keep it. I think he has done some work on it, so he has a lot more to lose than I do. I can't imagine he gets too many calls for a motor for a 1953 big truck. He has one of my motor mounts. He claimed he had a source for new ones, and I gave it to him to use as a sample. Does anyone have a source for motor mounts for the bigger trucks. I ordered a set from Chevs of the 40s but they were not correct and I sent them back. I think they must have been for the smaller pickups. I haven't been too concerned about the motor until now because I was working on the cab, but that is now almost done, and I need the motor to move on. I have restored one old car before this, but it was a quick and fairly rough job. This one was done right, and I am rather proud of it to this point. I would send a before and after picture, but I don't know how to do it on this site. Thanks for your help. Allen

Both The Filling Station and Jim Carter list the rear mounts for the 3/4-2 ton trucks.
