I have a 1952 6400 that has been parked for many years. One rear brake drum has a crack, as a result of an attempt to free the stuck brakes. It was not a good day. Water under the bridge, and all that. I have searched the internet for brake parts but all I can find are drums for smaller trucks. There is a site that scanned old manuals of all kinds and posted them, and the parts catalog section that covered the brake drum is blank. I hoped to get the part number so I could continue my search online. This is a 10 lug drum, and I believe the brakes are Wagner. The shoes are on the top and bottom as opposed to front and rear. It is also held onto the hub by three small machine screws, which I believe they started doing in 1951.

Is there a source for brakes parts such as this? Or in keeping with the guidelines for this forum, would it be worth it to post a want ad in the Swap Meet section?

I would post it in the wanted parts, some folks here are removing the axle and replacing with more modern so you do have a chance of finding one.

Your chances of finding a source for NEW drums are slim to none...place a ad and see what's out there used.

If you can't locate a brake drum through sources on stove take a few drives thru the farmlands near you. You might luck out and find a old truck that you can get parts off. It worked for me.

There's a junkyard near me that has two advanced design trucks. I'll check them and make sure their the same mount as yours. If they are I can buy one and ship it to you.
