I am reconnecting the original gauges. The oil gauge is the mechanical gauge with the copper pressure line running from the engine, through the firewall and into the oil gauge. Quick question: does the copper line need to be primed with oil (air flushed out of it) prior to installation? | | | | | Joined: May 2015 Posts: 11,061 Housekeeping (Moderator) Making a Stovebolt Bed & Paint and Body Shop Forums | | Housekeeping (Moderator) Making a Stovebolt Bed & Paint and Body Shop Forums Joined: May 2015 Posts: 11,061 | No. Pressure is pressure whether it's air or oil. It won't matter if there's air in it or not. The needle might bounce just a little bit on initial pressurization, but even that won't be a problem.
