What was the last model year that Chevrolet used generators in the pickup trucks?

From a G-o-o-g-l-e Search:

"Before 1963, General Motors used generators instead of alternators. They were often called dynamos or D.C. (direct current) generators. Since the only way to recharge an automotive-style wet cell battery is by using direct current, alternating current must be converted to direct current."

1964 was the first year for an alternator.

1961, I believe. The 1st. generation alternator, called a "Delcotron" which used n external regulator was on the cars in 62, and I doubt that they would have run two different charging systems in the same production year.

Chevy Corvair trucks were slow in changing. They used generators through 1964.

Ooops, those Corvair trucks are not considered to be trucks here on Stovebolt.com.

I consider them to be trucks - GM/Chevrolet lists them in their Truck Data Books.

GM first introduced alternators on the new 1963 corvette. All other GM vehicles were alternator charged in 1964. Dubbed the 10 DN, the externally regulated Delcotron was GM’s new charger of choice through 1968, when the internally regulated alternator was introduced. - Motor Trend
