Hello, I have a 40's Deluxe Harrison heater Model H-01-46, that I would like to put in my '39 1 1/2 ton Chevy. Could anyone point me in the direction of a wiring diagram or better yet a write up of how to install one of these? I've heard there is supposed to be a shut off valve on the side of the water pump and I know where it mounts on the firewall but thats about all I know. Thanks for the help
There should be two wires, one to the motor, one to the frame, which would be ground. It is often easier to just get a 12 volt motor that fits rather than deal with the old one if you are going 12 volts. Easy to touch one wire to pos. and one to neg. momentarily to tell which is which.
Important to check core for leakage. Probably only good for 3 to 5 psi, so be careful.

Libby, This info should help you. IF using defroster you need 2 switches, 1 for heater motor & 1 for defroster motor. Hot wire to switch, wire from switch to heater (same for defroster). Use at least a # 16 wire. Mounting bolts supply the ground from the firewall where the heater mounts. Good luck.
Libby, Could only post 5 pic's so here is more info on the heater. Look at the firewall closely and you shoud see the "knock-out" holes for the heater tubes and mounting bolts. See the firewall photo for the heater, on the passenger side in the big "X". Also attached is a firewall layout. Good luck. Harold
Thanks everyone for the help, the pictures are especially helpful. I am going to search through more parts bins and see if I can find one of those valves and test the motors, the truck is 6V so hopefully they work alright and I don't need new ones.
