I've been slamming my doors for to long. After knocking my windows off track was the final straw.
I put in new window mechanisms and used the old windows. I have since bought new windows with the metal strip attached. No problem

I bought new vent windows but did not get the tape ( I need to find that). Once I get the vent frame out, if I can get some tips to get those old ones out and new ones in would be appreciated.

Fyi( I have new door rubbers and cat whiskers I already in. )

Do you have the vent window out of the door? I have only repaired the vent glass and divider with the door glass and vent window frame out. But your mention of new whiskers leads me to believe your glass and divider are still in the truck. Where specifically are you in the process.
I recall I soaked the vent glass in solvent to soften the tape and used scraper. You can find the tape at your local glass shop and I had them press it in for a few $$. Made process easy and I was certain they would get the tape flush and straight.

Right now I want to find the set tape before I take the wing frame out.
I got new wing windows. When I get to the point to take the wing window out does it just slide out? ( I understand it will take time to get it loose)

I'll stop by the glass place I used before they put in my new windshield and back window.

Another question is the wings are loose and do not stay open when driving. Even at slow speed. I was thinking to put new rivet in where it hinges. I'd really like to get the wind in my face while cruising

The vent glass slides out of the frame. The tape is holding it in place. There may be room enough to switch it out in place, not sure. I will have to look at my truck since I had not considered that.

2nd question - within the door panel (remove the interior panel) you will find an access opening that allows you to tighten the vent window spring.

Got my wings windows in without taking frame out. I used urethane window cement ( I'm sure some won't like that but they look okay.

I also adjusted the tension on the wings just awesome 👍
