Is there suppose to be power to both leads on the back of the ammeter with the key off? | | | | | Joined: Aug 2018 Posts: 1,004 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Aug 2018 Posts: 1,004 | | | | | | Joined: Feb 2004 Posts: 29,885 Kettle Custodian (pot stirrer) | | Kettle Custodian (pot stirrer) Joined: Feb 2004 Posts: 29,885 | Yes. The ammeter measures current flow, sort of like the water meter in a household plumbing system, so the "pressure" (voltage) will be the same on both of the terminals. A voltmeter will have battery voltage on one terminal and ground (zero volts) on the other side. Jerry

The needle doesn’t move. | | | | | Joined: Jul 2000 Posts: 2,207 Insomniac | | Insomniac Joined: Jul 2000 Posts: 2,207 | Or someone has messed up the wiring, effectively bypassing the ammeter.
