Well, I'm patiently waiting for my newest old truck to arrive from KS. I got an email from the seller & a phone call from the hauler that the loading was a little exciting!!!

Seller thinks a rear wheel cylinder let go, rolled back down the trailer,no damage. I was hoping to take a test drive when it comes off the trailer but now I've got brake work to do.

I'm studing on the shop manual and part supplers for what I might need. I did complete job on my 3100 last year (Dual master, wheel cylinders, drums, shoes & spings, lines and stainless bleeders). Between NAPA and Jim Carter I spent $1100.00 in parts. I did get a lot of satisfaction out of bending & flairing all those brake lines.

This 4400 is going to a keeper but I what to do quick fix now and get a few miles on her before I go through all the systems. It sounds like drums might be tuff to come by if I need them.

Don't tell anybody I told ya this one...

If a brake cylinder goes, get an eight penny nail and cut it off about a half inch from the head. Using that "top" part of the nail, disconnect the brakeline from the cylinder. Install the head of the eight penny nail into the breakline end and re-install to the cylinder. This is an old "getmehomer" trick. Don't forget to take the nail head out when you fix the brake cylinder.

Thanks for the help guys! It was just a brake line to the left rear wheel. I cut it and folded it and put on two pair of vice grips, added some fluid. That was enough to back it off the trailer and run it up and down the driveway a few times.

I also had a bent accelarator rod which made it hard to drive, had to disconnect pedal to move it in and out of garage.
Sat. I made up two new rear lines, and installed new hose from main line and new bleeders on rear wheels. Left wheel was 7/16 and right was 3/8, so something else to add to the list to be checked out.

Next, re-wire and install new tail lights.
