I have a 1950 chev truck and as I reassemble the front axle I do not recall if the sway bar link bolts are attatched to anything other than the axle. I have no sway bar so I presume it once had it but was removed. My question is should I just unbolt the two link bolts off of the axle or do they still serve some type of purpose?

If you don't have the rest of the parts for the anti-roll bar, you might as well remove them.

The anti-roll bar is a useful addition. I installed the CPP kit and handling was much improved. The CPP kit does not use the parts shown in your picture.

AD trucks didn't have sway bars. Mostly Panels and Suburbans did.

Okay thanks for the responses. I will remove them from the axle. I do presume they were original to the truck unless the previous owner used one from a suburban. But all is good and I will consider the updated sway bar kit as suggested by Gord.
