Good afternoon! I have owned this truck for about 10 years. I have been rocking a set of 15" wheels on her. It is the 8x6.5 bolt pattern. I have found some 16" wheels from a ford E-250. They are about 2 hours away. My main concern is backspacing. I have read (here) that these will fit fine on my 3/4 ton. Is that Gospel? What should I be measuring to confirm 100%? My skills are limited, but I can operate a tape measure.

Help a brother out!

Have the person who has them measure the back spacing on the wheels you are planning on buying.

Measure from the backside of the wheel, where it mounts to your lug nuts to the outside of the rim. If it measures 4 inches it should work just fine

Or do the spacers but make sure your lugs are long enough to go through all of that and a bit past the nuts.

Elmo.

They will bolt on the rear no problem at all. On the front “some” have light interference from the tie rod only when turned to a certain spot. Mine did and I am running 1/4” (6mm) wheel spacers up front and I have no issues. Been running this setup for about 15k miles no problem. I have heard that guys running 1-ton tie rod ends dont have the issue at all.

'Preciate ya Boys! I did pull off a wheel and took a look. It looks like what I have is 3.75" now. There is a 1/4" spacer. I have a good set of 15 inch tires, but I have wanted 16" for so long. I found a place in Miami that has a bunch, so I can pick the best 5. $220. Sounds solid.

You will probably need to run “big bulge” lug nuts as i did. Mine don’t go all the way through the nut because they are a little short and they are acorn nuts. They definitely are not going anywhere especially with 8 of them on the 3/4tons.

I run 16 inch Ford 3/4 ton 4X4 rims from the eights with 235/85's on my 46 3/4 ton and they fit nice with no spacers.

I need some more help gents! The wheels have a 4" backspace as Elmo said. The rim has a paper thin margin with a 1/4" spacer. Should I be good with 1/2" spacer?

I just remembered i ground the outer corner of my tie rod with a angle grinder to get a lil more clearance. No issues to date. It still screws in and out if needed to service.

I needed the 1/2 inch spacers on mine otherwise the tie rod ends would have knocked the wheels weights off. I installed 16x7 rims from a E Series van. LT245/75R 16 Hankook Dynapro AS and these fill the wheel wells nicely. I did swap the front wheel studs because the stock studs were too short and swapped all the lugnuts to the bulge style.

I added the hub cap clips to the new rims, 4 per rim.

Ran a one ton tie rod vs the original spring/ball one got me a bit more clearance and its a drop in easy swap, this was my 53 3600. Could ditch the old weights for the stick on also.
