How close should my gas pedal be to the floor? The accelerator rod on mine stick out of the floor about an inch
So not much to max out but carburetor seems like it wide open .
I will try to post a few pics

Pics aren't showing.

You can adjust the accelerator rod by the bell-crank on the block. Should be the spot you attach the rod to the bell-crank with a nut on each side. Just loosen one side or the other to achieve the right pedal height. Assuming we are talking about a 235.

What engine are you working on?

I believe that the installation of a newer engine requires a longer accelerator rod. My '54 has a '62 engine. When they installed the new engine they lengthened the rod.

The rod sticks out 2 1/2"

Linkage issues fixed and working well just need a heavier return spring.
