Hi All- Just joined. My father had a '52 Chevy pickup when I was born and sold it shortly thereafter. I've wanted to find one for myself for a while, and now that I have the space I think I can finally pull it off. Ive done a couple of motorcycles, not full concourse stuff but just getting them back on the road.
I'm located in Chesterfield VA. I met Steve in Concord VA a few weeks ago but the red 3100 I went to see got grabbed by a flipper.

Side note, anyone in PA with an inside track/special skills for DMV stuff that might know how I could locate my Dad's old truck he sold around '84? We don't have any paperwork or the VIN. I know it's a long shot.

Welcome to Stovebolt Capt. you are definitely in Stovebolt territory......but then, anywhere is Stovebolt land!!
Good luck on your search. Its a long shot but one never knows. Dig around in "old papers" that you may find or some of your kind folks may give you a lead??
The AD style pickup is a good choice. Lots of them made and many parts available. Ask questions in the garage forums and we'll do the rest.

I'd rather walk and carry a Chevy hub cap than ride in a Ferd.

Thanks, chip. Looking for an AD that I can turn back into a work truck. Would also consider the tri-five years... I always really like the '55/'56 two-door cars and that front clip. I really can appreciate original / survivor trucks but would be up for swapping the cab and bed onto a '70s 4x4 donor.

I think I found a candidate - a '48 3/4 ton located near Asheboro NC. Looks to be in decent enough condition to restore or leave as-is; it's listed in running and driving condition. Anyone up near Richmond up for a road trip? 😁
