My doors finally open and close perfectly
I highly recommend this kit
15 years with crummy fitting doors....now very nice

However can’t lock drivers door by moving inside lever forward
You need to use power door locks or install a keyed unit on the outside drivers door
My passenger door can be locked with key (only)

How to install a keyed unit on drivers door?
Need a slot to slide in the retainer???

Any ideas?

Your local hardware store should have a hasp and a big Master padlock. Works every time!

Installed the Altman latches on my 51, 3100 and love them.

I made a template of the passenger side lock assembly hole and took measurements of its location. Transferred that to the drivers door and duplicated the hole. Take your time, it’s not that hard. I test fit a new lock assembly and it worked great.

Yes, you do have to cut a slot in the door for the retainer. I used a die grinder with a cutoff wheel.

I thought about electric locks but couldn’t figure out a manual unlock function in case of power loss, as might occur in accident.
