Well, I can't get the truck out from where it is because it's way in the back of an old private salvage yard but I can strip it clean. It is a 1 1/2 ton but is complete and has a good front end. I'm going to keep most everything that will work in a 1/2 ton but if anyone wants any parts specific to the 1.5 ton let me know. The fenders and running boards look decent but I will know more when we go to pick it clean. It also has the original drive train but will probably be too difficult to get out and not worth the trouble. I also bought a nice complete '60 235 from him.

You didn't see any, '47-'54 G.M. COE's, or Antique Holmes Wreckers, in that Junkyard did ya.

Yes, the truck is complete. I'm keeping the windshield frame and regulator. The front bumper looked good. I hate to just strip it down. It would make a good project big truck. I'm going to talk to the owner and see if we can move some other vehicles out of the way and just load the whole thing up. It would probably be less time consuming than sitting there all day fighting rusty bolts. Oh, I will look to see if there's any COE's. There's a lot of old stuff in there. I noticed some old '39 Fords, cars and trucks, lots of old '60-'66 Chevy trucks which I plan to check out and several old Task Force trucks.

Good news, I talked the owner into moving some of the other vehicles out of the way and making a path back to the '46. He's going to deliver the whole truck next week via rollback. This is just what I need, another project. I've never owned a big bolt before. Who knows that old 216 may come back to life. The cab is shot on this truck but I just happen to have a good spare.

It's just a small private yard. He has never sold anything to the general public. It's just for his personal use. I've known him for a long time and just brought up the truck subject. He said yes I've got an old '46 on the farm. It's way back off the road at his house and through a locked gate. I don't think he wants me telling anybody about it. He is kind of funny about people coming around that he doesn't know.
