When cleaning the carb on this truck I ran into two questions. On the area circled, the cam or arm is still on the carb but it is missing the screw and whatever that is that comes into contact with the cam. Is it possible to locate that? Currently the cam just rotates on the housing without any contact with butterfly.
Second. The arrow. On my carb at this point it is just open there. Is there supposed to be a soft plug or anything there.
Third. What clips the throttle linkage to the carb. On mine it has a pin that goes in the linkage to carb and fits in it but there is no hole for a key or kotter pin. What clips it onto the carb linkage?
The 1954 truck with HT used the same carburetor as the car with manual transmission (synchromesh) Make sure you have the correct carburetor before spending $ on it. If you have no ID tag on the fuel bowl look for a stamp number on the bottom of the throttle base. Buying individual missing parts will be expensive. Buy junk Rochester BC's and salvage for parts. Rochester B and BC carburetors are cheap except on ebay where they are overpriced X 100 (seriously). At one time, Carbking was (call and find out) giving them away if you purchase a rebuild kit and pay shipping.
Look at the diagram and the picture for help on cam and linkage pieces.
The choke housing needs an expansion plug. See pictures.
Throttle linkage. See picture. This is a special arrangement only for trucks with HT. Take pictures of what you have and post.

"Adding CFM to a truck will only help at engine speeds you don't want to use." "I found there was nothing to gain beyond 400 CFM."
That is awesome info. Thank you for taking the time to post that. I appreciate it. The screw had fallen out. I entered the part numbers you gave into eBay and found the expansion plug and the bracket for choke rod. They were about 12 for both. Awesome. I now see what type of clip holds the throttle on.
