Unless you're working with a factory original H-M truck, swapping from a manual trans to a hydro is a huge job with not much chance of success. If all you want is an automatic instead of a standard trans, it would be simpler, and less expensive to retro-fit a 6 cylinder Stovebolt to a Powerglide, or possibly a Turbo 350. Stay FAR away from a 700R4/4L60!

It currently has a stock hydramatic. It has been running great for years. I will likely sell it when I get to finished. Sounds like yours is a 53, which would be a GMC and the two are not easily swapped. But I have the Langdon Stovebolt Chevy 235, 261 to THM 350, 2004R, 700R4 adapter plate with flex plate. I’m going to sell this too.
