I’m having a hard time finding the flare fittings that go from 1/4” male tp 3/8” female. I need one for each side of filter and one for the carb. Any suggestions or any other way?

Hunt around your neighborhood for a shop that knows what you are talking about, take your business there, could be a farm shop, NAPA knows about fittings, others, too. Take your fittings with you.

Might want to get yourself a proper tubing cutter and a flare/inverted flare tool( one device)

Are you installing it next to the carb? If so, I used a 1/8 pipe nipple about 2” long and went directly from the outlet if the filter into the carb. In the inlet side, I used 1/8” male pipe to 5/16” female inverted flair adaptor. Then you use a 5/16” flare nut on you tube with a new double flare just like a brake line flare.

You can buy all of the fittings in NAPA, just bring you filter and fuel line and they should be able to set you up.

To echo Phak1's comments, I would be quite surprised if the female threads in both the carburetor and fuel filter were other than 1/8 pipe.

Your fuel line should be 5/16, so the inlet to the filter should be 1/8 pipe male (screws into the filter) by 5/16 inverted flare female (to accept the 5/16 fuel line).
