Hello, I am trying to find pictures of how the pedal are attached. Can't remember how they were attached to either the frame or bellhousing. Can anyone take pictures of their 46 1.5 ton? Much appreciated
Awesome. Thank you for that. What casting number is that? Mine has the later angled bell housing mounts, do you know there is a casting number I should look for that mounts the pedals onto the bell housing?
Thank you. Makes sense why I can't remember how they attchaed. Mine was put in with a later 235 and an angled mounted bell housing with a SM420 trans Whatt casting number is that? Do you know if they have an angle mounted bell housing that has the pedal mount?
I believe the bellhousing with the pedal mounts are the same for all of the deco style trucks that used the non-syncro 4 speed. The frame mount portion "legs" on the one in my image are unique to 1941-45 military trucks, but they unbolt from the bellhousing. I am not sure on the bellhousing casting number, will have to dig into my parts manual. The image I sent is from a while ago and the parts are now assembled. Yes the bellhousing that fits the SM420 transmission is different in several ways.
To put a SM420 in a Deco truck you'll need a 1948 to 1953 truck bellhousing. This has the same frame mounts as the original 1946 unit and the proper mounting for the transmission, what's missing is the pedal mounting bosses. Fortunately, forum member Marvin Ribbich has got you covered. Go to this thread and his contact info is in the first post.
