I’m sure it’s been asked plenty of times. How ever, here it goes. Has anyone ever painted their engine block I with car paint? You know, maybe to match the vehicle. Was it successful? Any tips would be appreciated Thanks | | | | | Joined: Mar 2010 Posts: 1,660 Curmudgeon | | Curmudgeon Joined: Mar 2010 Posts: 1,660 | I don't think it's the color so much as the ability of the paint to tolerate heat, oil and gasoline.

It’s called ALK-200. It’s a industrial grade enamel. You can get it in any color. Brush or spray. Good product. You can get it at most, not all, PPG auto paint supplier. I also use it as the body paint because I don’t like the wet look of the base/clear coat used on modern cars.
