For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Feb 2007 Posts: 5 Junior Member | | Junior Member Joined: Feb 2007 Posts: 5 | I have a 69 c10 and have it stripped down to just frame and i am wanting to 1: put disc brakes on front and 2:put late model silverado rims on it. I have seen the brake conversion kits but have heard about using later model parts and retro fit it. On the wheels I have heard of spacers but also wondered about retro fitting with later model. If i retro fit (if possible) seems to be better i can kill 2 birds with one stone. any advice would be greatly appreciated... Also should i post this elsewhere?.....Thanks..Rick | | | | | Joined: Sep 2003 Posts: 2,384 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Sep 2003 Posts: 2,384 | many ways to do this, junkyard parts, a junkyard crossmember swap, high dollar disc brake kit. How late of Silverado, 5 lugs or 6? | | | | | Joined: Feb 2007 Posts: 5 Junior Member | | Junior Member Joined: Feb 2007 Posts: 5 | I have rims off of late model 6 lug rims and tires....it would be a shame if they dont work...Rick | | | | | Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 2,098 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 2,098 | Rick, They may not, it's my understanding that some of the late wheel offsets are much greater than on the early trucks.
