I am not too concerned about fitment with the '38 chassis, because I can work with that.. mainly what specifically do I need to attach the trans to the 292? Is there a bell housing for this? adapter? is it fairly easy or a pain in the neck? Thank you!

e lower first gear, which al the rock crawlers like so might be hard to find.
Later ones fit Dodge engines, have about 1” longer input shafts, AA have thin adapters the fit GM trans, to the GM bell housing.

'47 GMC 1 ton w/ 302, NP-540, 4wd, full width Blazer front axle.
'54 GMC 630 w/ 503 gasser, 5 speed, ex fire truck, shortened WB 4', install 8' bed.
'55 GMC 370 w/270, 420 4 speed, grain, dump bed truck from ND. Works OK.

They all have the same bellhousing pattern and the correct input shaft for your standard clutch. They are usually cheaper than their Dodge counterparts as well.
