If anything symbolizes American freedom it is the personal gas-powered automobile. EVs are simply another part of a nefarious scheme to limit that freedom with reduced range, extended charging time, etc.

Less pollution, my arse. Electricity generation comes from fish-killing dams, air-polluting coal-burning plants, bird-killing windmills, or dangerous nuclear plants. And battery disposal is a cumulative environmental disaster in the making.

If a bear poops in the woods, it's natural. But when 7 billion bears poop in the woods, it's an environmental disaster. If you want less pollution, have less people.

Sorry to revive an older thread but it looks like there's been a release of some more information from a video on that red 1951 EV conversion from EV west pictured earlier in the thread.

Apparently he's getting ~200hp with a 42 kWH battery, giving about 130 miles of range. Honestly pretty low when it comes to EV's, but not bad by a long shot. A Nissan leaf has a 40 kWH battery and is rated for 149 miles of range.

A late 40's/early 50's Chevy pickup converted to electric would make me weep.

Hey - I didn't revive this thread!

Everytime I clean up oil under my 235 I remember why I'm not afraid of electric motors. Not in a hurry but not afraid.
