I made new inside door panels for the inside of my doors on my 53 3600 3/4 ton truck. First I made a cardboard template. Then transferred that onto a piece of 1/8 th inch hardboard. Made the holes for my window crank and door handle. Then cut a the black Naugahyde and wrapped the hardboard to it. First time I’ve done this.
I think it turned out nice. Just my opinion.

I did the same on/under my many Suburban windows.

Did you use waterproof hardboard - I did not, on my first try.

Is hardboard masonite?

Nice. I did the same to my 49. I used 1/8" Tempered board.

Didn’t think to use ABS.

What size ,type of abs did you use .I need to either buy a headliner or make one thought if I can find the abs locally it might be worth a try

1/8" thick stuff, texture on one side, smooth on the other.

Looks good did it come in a 4x8 sheet. Looks like it fit nicely In the original bows

My apologies; the lighting (flash?) made it look white.

So the black primer is just temporary - you intend to actually paint the truck someday? My panel truck's feelings will be hurt ;-)

Lol! Sure! I've been telling myself that I'm going to paint it going on 8 years now??? Once I forget the pain of assembling it is when I'll start tearing it apart!! AND how much storage is required when everything is apart.

I guess context would help, huh? That would be me doing the painting and me not paying someone to do the painting. And now we understand the procrastination!!

I used 1/8" plywood. I bought batting and black vinyl from Walmart. I padded them a little to give them more of a contrast. They look great like others here in this post.
