Hi guys, I'm looking at changing the speedometer gearing ratio in a 350TH transmission I've got installed in my AD truck. From what I can see externally on the transmission to pull the driven gear you'd remove the speedo cable and remove the bolt beside the driven gear outlet. Is there any special tool or techniec required in getting the driven gear out ? to replace the drive gear, do you drop the drive shaft than remove the 4 bolts holding on the rear tail piece on. Anything special required in repacing the drive gear?
Thanks

You don,t need to replace the drive gear. There is a large selection of driven gears for that model & they are readily available. Remove the bolt & retainer & pull it out. Some of the early models had a small gear. You don,t have as much choice with those.

They say money can't buy happiness. It can buy old Chevy trucks though. Same thing.

Check http://www.700r4.com or http://www.tciauto.com They used to have speedometer gearing charts.
