I'm pondering on rebuilding a 292 I have.
It will go in a ton Chevy square body.
Mated to a 4L80, in place of a diesel.
I have a good block.
Four barrel intake.
Will have dual cast iron headers.
This is torque build, not worried about gitty up and go ability.
Your input would be much appreciated.
I know the usual inline part sources.
Figuring on going .30 over, with high test pump gas compression pistons, and valve job and getting the crank turned.
I'd like a cam source, valve train input, piston sources, etc.

GM made propane Pistons, don't know present availability. Delta Cams in the Seattle area has hood recommendations.

12bolt.com has a good variety of build parts including several different cams, some pistons, rods, valves, etc. I went through him for the majority of my build... he has a wealth of knowledge and would give you good info if you reached out to him.

As far as the propane pistons mentioned above, when I did my rebuild earlier this year, those were scarce and not currently produced so prices when found were quite high, almost to the point of what new aftermarket high compression pistons were.
