Hello, Can anyone familiar with the two ton frame please tell me the track width of the two ton?
Are the ton and a half and two ton trucks the only ones which have the larger sized cab and front clip sheet metal?
Are the cab to frame mounts on the larger trucks the same layout as the half ton trucks, i.e., three or four mounts?
I am really getting an education reading these posts about details on the larger trucks. Thanks all! Love the A.D. trucks.

I believe the cab and hood is identical between the smaller trucks and 1 1/2 and 2 ton trucks. Front fenders are wider as is the grill. That said, mounts should be identical as well. I believe the frame rails are the same distance apart as the smaller trucks, but I could be wrong on that one.

That is correct for 47-53 A-D regular-cab truck hood-parts.

54-5st A-D hood parts are different from earlier years.

Please forgive my lack of knowledge. I saw an advanced design in a central California junkyard several years ago, Just like a half ton,
except the truck, cab, front clip, was bigger. Tried to buy it, but they said it was promised to someone else. Was that perhaps a two
and one half ton model, or something else? Or perhaps my mind was gone even then? LOL. Possibly, possibly. Never saw one since. I
would have sworn it looked 15=20% bigger, but I did not measure it. Nor did I check underneath at the frame. It was a beast.

The Task Force series later '55 through '59 cabs are the same regardless of tonnage, front clips are bigger for the medium duty's. Even my Low Cab Forward has the same cab dimensions with all of the glass being the same from 1/2 ton through 2 1/2 ton. The cabs are raised above the frame for tire/wheel clearance and they do fool you with a bigger look.

Hy MikeStone1953 and guys, I would like to make one correction and ask one question, hoods for trucks over one ton in size are not the same as their lighter counterparts, the difference is in the shape of the hood in the cowl area. Did you actually want to know the track width (the width between the centerlines of the front wheels) or did you want to know the widths of the frames. On Chevrolet trucks all the cabs are the same size, there are a couple of different sets of front fenders and hoods

Would they be the COMM and UTIL in the Master Parts Catalog?

Yes! Thank you! I did want to know the track width, not the frame width. Of course I do need to know if the frames are different/ the same, but I was asking about track width, to know if the track of the truck sits wider than the half ton. So I infer that the hood is different than those on a half ton? The whole front clip looks bigger, but I don't know for sure, so I asked. One final question, and I will shut up about all this! LOL. Is the radiator core support that all the front sheet metal bolts to the same or different than the half ton sized piece? This all really helps me make sense of things I've seen over the years, but never knew the details about. Thank you! Seen stuff at swap meets, etc., that seemed different than half ton.

Hy MikeStone1953 and guys, according to my truck data book the track width of a 6000 series is actually 5/16" narrower than the track width of 3100. Track of 6000 series 58 3/4", track of 3100 series 59 1/16". Hope that helps.

According to the 1950 Vehicle Information Kit
3100 front track of a 3100 is 56-9/16" and rear track is 61"
6400 front track is 58-3/4" and rear inner track is 57-3/4" and rear outer is 79-1/4" with average rear track of 68-1/2"
So while the front track is slightly narrower, the rear track is wider on the big bolts.
