I need to put a spacer under the carburetor to clear the throttle linkage. I believe I need about 2 inch studs with 3/8 threads. Will the studs come out of the manifold? Are these available? Thanks. Sometimes they're very stubborn, so use a good penetrating oil like KROIL or PB Blaster, some heat from a torch, and either a stud remover or tightly double-nut the studs and use a socket and a long handled ratchet or maybe an impact wrench to back them out. Dorman makes a good assortment of studs to choose from- - - -you'll probably find the thread in the manifold will be coarse, and the top will be a fine thread. For instance, 3/8-16 in the manifold, and 3/8-24 holding the carburetor on. Also try Fastenal for custom-length studs. Jerry

Then trim off both ends to get the thread lengths you need. I do that on a lathe, but if you're careful with an adjustable die the same thing could be done in a vise. Jerry
