I have a 1953 GMC truck and would like a picture of the Flywheel cover from the 1947-54 Chevy Truck Assembly Manual if anyone has it. My manual was misplaced during our move.

Not much there on the flywheel cover, but here you go.

Thanks for the picture, it helps. I’ve seen a flat plate with a curved cut out associated with the flywheel cover I was hoping the picture would show how it’s installed

buckeroo,

You are correct.

There is an "underpan" cover as shown in that illustration.

And, there is a flattish (embossed) vertical cover as you describe - it goes vertically on the lower "other side" of the clutch assembly housing's "under pan".

I happen to have my chassis sitting in the driveway. Here's a pic of the flywheel covers. The vertical one that Tim mentioned is barely visible - screws to the bellhousing from the front on each side.

Bookaroo, the comment about it being missing was interesting. I have noticed them missing on several old trucks. Never thought about until now. I wonder if old timers pulled it for a repair and then just forget to put it back on? Just not sure if there’s a general reason to remove it though. My AM coffee rambling for the day. 😎☕️

KDrown,

I think your "AM coffee rambling" is probably correct.
