I’m in search of seat springs. Turns out they don’t exist or they are very pricey. My question is does anyone know if springs from a Chevy car would work and if so which one. I’m sure someone out there has done some research on the subject. That’s the lower portion of the seat, where your butt goes. The other part is fine. Thanks

Mustangguy Long ago went with a friend to get a 62 vette seat worked on they had new springs upstairs already in burlap. The guy brought down a little bundle ,cut the hog rings to get 4 or 6 and put em right where you said. No problem ! I think eckler corvette in florida has those. need some too. Also thought I might go to an old seat and get the passenger side or go to the junkyard,Have a wilderrness yard where they still let you "shop" on your own !!!

I saved some from a '40 seat. Don't know why, just did. If you think they would work, let me know.

Hello Dennis. I have rough dimensions for my springs. They are: top and bottom rings are 3 3/4 inches in diameter. The center wraps are 1 3/4 to 2 inches in dia. There are 7 (?) wraps or rings. rough height is 6 inches tall. Here are a couple pics of the springs. If your springs are similar like height and spring diameter without the hourglass shape I guess that would work. Thanks.
