This thread is for attendance and food related discussion(ONLY).
Please use this thread to let us know that you are coming to the show, what day and time you think you will be arriving and when you think you will be leaving. It might not hurt to add your camping/hotel plans. If camping on the grounds please register to do so. This will surely be a different event than we are used to. For many of us, this is one of our biggest events of the year. It is mine for sure. The virus has impacted lots of other events which is having an affect on peoples attendance to the truck show. I have had several PM conversations with other regular attendees that have already made it clear they wont be there this year, are coming late and leaving early or just plan leaving early, before the "Stovebolt Banquet" Saturday night. This is why we need to start figuring out who will be there Saturday for dinner so we can decide how proceed. Typically, several contribute to a meal, all unplanned and shoot from the hip kind of affair along with burgers and dogs that I usually bring (there has always been plenty of food). If not many folks are going to be there, we may just do a "you are on your own" deal for Saturday.
Keep in mind that they will be serving food in the field house, Thursday Friday and Saturday. As most of you already know, buy a meal ticket for the pork BB dinner Friday night. The proceeds go to an amazing charity.
As far as food in camp, I am very understanding that everyone has their own thoughts, beliefs and method of dealing with Covid 19. I am not going to make a huge deal about this but I will say, we are assembling as a group and we are coming from different parts of the country where the impact of this thing and how it affects you in your community is very different. Please respect your fellow bolter in this regard. Where when or if you wear a mask is up to you. I work in a hospitality environment so I am immersed in all the CDC, state and county requirements all day every day. All I am saying is if we do have dinner on Saturday night, it will be done a little differently so there isn't a lot of hands touching food. Also, if you plan on bring snacks etc to share, I would suggest, SUGGEST they it be individually wrapped. Don, I know how everyone loves the fried delicacies that you prepare with the fryer but for this event, I would suggest not bringing it just for the food handling concerns. If I am over thinking things then so be it.
Another thing to think about is the weather. Rain, which we have been lucky in avoiding the last couple of years, would really put a damper on things, again, given social distancing etc. Just saying. Hopefully we will get lucky again and it will be beautiful.
As of right now. I plan on arriving Thursday late morning and leaving Sunday morning.

Thanks Billy for the info. I was also 50/50 on bringing the fryer. You just cleared that decision up. Also on my stay time. Planning on arriving Thursday before noon and leave Sunday morning. Count me in on the Saturday night dinner. I'm also back to 50/50 on whether to bring a extra truck or not. I may be just in a little pickup and camp away from the gang. It's a long drive with a 1-ton on the trailer. Is it OK to leave a non running truck on a trailer? Or will it embarrass the ODSS?
It may also be decided if I still have jury duty on the Monday after the show. With the little truck I could still make that duty.

Billy, well said. I plan on arriving thursday at noon. bringing my truck and golf cart on the gooseneck. Living in a tent and carrying my drinks and some food in a cooler. I will have an extension cord to fill my air mattress and brew my coffee. When i'm hungry, i'll eat meals the Ruritans make. Kayla has her confirmation at 10am on Sunday morning. I will be leaving late Saturday night when the majority of visitors go to bed and leave for the night. Please assign me something I can bring to contribute for Saturdays evening meal.
Thanks Billy for the useful info. I am arriving sometime mid day on Thursday and leaving either Saturday afternoon or Sunday morning (Undecided on departure) I'm camping without a tent this time since my friend Seab King will be attending and driving my old 87 class C camper and I'm driving the 50. Seab was at our Lexington Homecoming last year with me. I WILL NOT wear a mask so I will be recognizable (it is the rebel in me, I'll just leave the rest of my thoughts out on the Covid Plandemic) I'm glad the show is on. Billy, please let me know if I can contribute anything for food supplies. I think for the most part, shooting from the hip on food is best !
Thanks Billy, Camp Commandant for Tri-state Show, for clearing things up regarding COVID-19. My plan is to tow dolly my '48 3100 Chevrolet Pick-Up (unlike last year had to turn back home after having problems with truck and missed the show) & arrive Thursday afternoon. I'm staying at Quality inn 2 nites & need to return home early Saturday for my daughters competitive cheer session. Will buy & consume Show food. Looking forward to seeing my ODSS brothers. V/r, Nick
Thanks to all for your itineraries. This will help a lot in planing. One thing I forgot to state was the traveling Stovebolt Grill will be in camp as usual for all to use.

I plan to come up on Friday, but have to go home that evening to prep for a next day event. On Saturday morning, I’ll be burning flags for a couple hours... before you freak out, my VFW post does an annual flag retirement ceremony for all the tattered and worn flags from our entire area. As soon as the ceremony is complete, I plan to come back to the show for the day and maybe stay overnight in a tent. If a Billy burger is available, I will descend upon it with vigor- if not, I will have some type of chow to get me through. I look forward to seeing my brothers and eyeballing trucks. As I do not have a running bolt, I hope to bring my Corn Bolt (1962 International Brush Fire truck). It has a front spray attachment, which will be handy to keep the dust down on the roads.

Look to see my ugly mug Thursday late morning! Unfortunately leaving Friday night late. Can always depend on the Mrs. to ruin my Boyz weekend! I highly doubt the “53” will make the event, due to the late night ride back! It will be great to see you all again! Jim

Billy, I do not have a pit anymore. Just an old truck rim. But I am leaving late Saturday evening. It would be too hot to load up to bring home. Can I bring something for dinner Saturday eve??
And have seasoned Oak/Hickory to fire it with. But, they frown on interstate firewood transport. Don

I'll have the Stovebolt awning plus another one to put over my sleeping quarters. US flag and a Stovebolt flag. What about tables? I can throw a couple folding tables in if needed. Hardshell and I should be getting the decals in the next couple days and we both will have them to distribute.
Still on the fence on whether to load up a truck or not. We'll see what happens in the next few days. Don

Don ... Brother ... You are thinking WAY too hard about this. If *you* want a table, bring a table. But don't worry about the rest of us. A good rule of thumb: If you have to wonder, leave it. Applies to tables, food, cookers, awnings ... ... trucks ...
Leave the Stovebolt EZ up home -- if we put it up, we look too much like a "vendor" trying to skate by w/o paying the vendor fee ... We don't want to push it ...
Think of this event as an "expeditionary operation" -- light and simple and ... stress-less!

Thanks for the heads up John! Small awning will be for me, I'll fend for myself for food. BYOB, should I even bring a Stovebolt? Fired up the 57 1-ton today and it may be on the trailer. Have not seen any representation of the 55/59 trucks yet that will be there. Unless Mike B. brings his 57?
Don
Edit: Should I also leave three rims at home?

We'd all like to see the truck. But just don't be disappointed if it goes home with you.
Well, yeah bring the rims ...

Actually John, I rather like it and plan on hauling it back home. Unless someone can't live without it.
On a side note, I just went out and got the mail. The decals were in the mailbox! Couldn't resist going out and putting one on the 57!

Shame, Shame, Shame, my little wondering Stovebolters. My Dad and I are making the trip from Michigan. We will get in late Thursday night, and right now plan on rolling out sometime Saturday. (not sure yet about the Saturday Stovebolt Banquet) Looking forward to the great conversation and fellowship! (we had a great time last year at Homecoming and KC Reunion)
Mike B, John V, Mike R, Artie G, Timmy G and Gary C usually meet at the Sheetz in Dahlgren at 8am on Thursday. Haven't confirmed with anyone yet, but that's what we have done for the past 15-16 years.
Mike ... my plans revolve around Hambone getting my trailer back to me this weekend ... I should be able to make an early Thursday AM departure if that's the plan. I find suspect the notion that the usual suspects (AKA, the SoMD Convoy Crew) will be at Sheetz in Dalhgren at 0800. In fact, I chortle heartily at such a thought ...
Are we going with the SoMD crew or striking out on our own?
Doug -- I plan to head out earlyish Sunday AM ... depending on you and/or Mike. Not sure I want to wait around for the SoMD "convoy" to form ...

Billy, I"ll let ya know on the others. John, You said mid morning on Thursday. I plan on being able to go wheels up at any moment you say. If you wanna convoy with the fellas. I can surely do that also. I'd like to get on the road as early as possible but I'd like to convoy with you if possible.
Mike -- Roger that. We'll coordinate further off line

UPDATE...
I just heard from John V and due to the ever growing size of the group and all of the trailers we are now meeting at the Murphy's Gas just 1/4 mile south of Sheetz on the same side of 301...8am Thursday.
OK so getting down to the wire here. I only have a few things left to do before we load up and head out Thursday morning. Looking forward to seeing everyone in Winchester!
