Just talked to Shelley and they are peel off decals in the shape of the white background, made more for glass.
Once they are on, they don't come off and there is no gray left.
Ordered 150 of them and she should have them done in about a week.
Hopefully I can then get some to Hardshell to distribute at the Tri State show in time.
How many? 50? 60? 75? You tell me.

Don

Will they stick on the inside or outside of the window? Up here where we get frost that has to be scraped off, the ones that stick on the outside suffer.

Kevin, I don't know, they have been ordered and so the dirty deed is done.
When I get them, I'll try one out asap and do a report with instructions

John, that's what they want. So I will deliver.
Any extras can be sold at other events. Any profit will go to fund Stovebolt.

Update.
Hardshell will get 75 decals and I'll get the other 75.
I contacted our printer again and she should ship straight to Hardshell and me.
Jim should have them in time for the Tri State show.

Keep us wannabes updated with pictures and play by play reporting on the event!

Thanks all.

Don -- keeping the price low is more important than profits. We get an advertising boost from all these stickers, so even if it isn't a money makers, we are still deriving a real benefit from having increased exposure. smile Lower price -- more stickers out there -- more exposure -- more wandering pilgrims come in to our warm hearth from the cold, dusty and lonely trail of heart ache (antique truck restoration). Wrapping a nice warm blanket around the shivering shoulders of the next lost soul in from the cold and showing him to a comfy rocking chair next to the wood stove in our virtual sitting room and relieving him (or her) of any burden of worry, care, doubt or anxiety is worth more to me than filthy lucre.

Okay so that was a little over the top but you get the point. We make enough from all the advertising on the site to not only fund the site, but also our lavish lifestyles (ask me about my sporty German sport(y)car some time ... You should see Paul's opulent compound and crystal cathedral of an office. We have truly spared no expense. No expense at all .... smile

I call him the Grand Pooh Bear. Think of the reasons why!

Panel, when we get the decals, price and figure out how to distribute them.
We'll post on who you need to contact and will be mailing them out late September/October?

We'll get you covered somehow John!

Don ... sigh ... If you had the slightest whiff of familiarity with comic opera, specifically the works of Arthur Gilbert and W.S. Sullivan, than you would perfectly understand the significance of my title of "Pooh Bah."

But then again, being that I am a bear of little brain, I suppose a little nod to A.A. Milne would not be completely out of place. That becomes quickly problematic though in that I am no where near as gentle natured as the lovable denizen of the 100 acre wood. The truth is, I am, in point of fact, a particularly haughty and exclusive person, of pre-Adamite ancestral descent. You will understand this when I tell you that I can trace my ancestry back to a protoplasmal primordial atomic globule. Consequently, my family pride is something inconceivable. I can't help it. I was born sneering. But I struggle hard to overcome this defect. I mortify my pride continually. When all the great officers of Stovebolt resigned in a body, because they were too proud to serve under an ex-tailor, did I not unhesitantly accept all their posts at once?

It is consequently my degrading duty to serve this upstart as First Lord of the Treasury, Lord Chief Justice, Commander-in-Chief, Lord High Admiral, Master of the Buckhounds, Groom of the Back Stairs, Archbishop of Titipu, and Lord Mayor, both acting and elect, all rolled into one. And at a salary! A Pooh-Bah paid for his services! I a salaried minion! But I do it! it revolts me, but I do it!

But I don't stop at that. I go and dine with middle-class people on reasonable terms. I dance at cheap suburban parties for a moderate fee. I accept refreshment at any hands, however lowly. I also retail State secrets at a very low figure.

Clear enough?

John will always be my Pooh Bear!

As for what he just typed out, I still don't understand the drama and thread stealing?

Back on topic, I'll probably call John tomorrow and find out how he wants Jim and I to handle the distribution.

Alaska is the same as across town (we are part of the USA, after all. wink ) 55c for the first ounce for letter size.
Canada is $1.20 for 2 oz letter.

But we won't go there.

When we get them and try them out, some will be headed your way!

Just talked to John and the decals will be 2 bucks each.
Any excess will go into the Stovebolt fund, to keep this learning and sharing site going.

As for the Tri State show, the wife said last Saturday "JUST GO"!
Our son will also dog sit.
So the odds are better that I'll be there.
Need more info on how to register, camp and what truck to bring.

My chance of being there is up to about 70%.
Wife wants me gone for a week.
I'll miss Tim as a road trip partner though.

If I do it? I would hope to be there before noon Thursday.
Leave Saturday afternoon?

John said it's more of, fend for yourself for food and whatever.
More laid back than the Homecoming and not near what the KC Reunion is like.

Then there is the route to get there. I-70 thru some big cities or I-64 to I-79 and then 48/50 to the event?
Should I pre register? Bring a Stovebolt? Or just show up and sleep in the back of whatever I drive?
Advice is really in need!

Oh, what about rain? Should I bring that also?

Don, the Ruritan's (fairground owners) will have their kitchen up and running with a simple breakfast (coffee, egg's, pancakes etc), lunch (burgers, chicken tenders fries, soda, etc.) that are pay as you go and a dinner on Friday night that you need to buy a ticket for in advance. After hours hanging around the camp fire is a BYOB and lawn chair event!

The fairgrounds has a rustic bathhouse with showers about 100 yards from the camp area with spot pots much closer.

Restaurants, Walmart, groceries, etc are only 3 miles away...truck stop with convenience store food & beer/wine is much closer.

Thanks Mike, That is the info I needed to hear. I know you are a big part of this show and I appreciate what you do to make it work.
I still need to decide if I want to haul a truck up there and back, or just load my stuff in a daily driver truck and be there?
The route is also a question. I-64 to Charleston WV. Then I-79 to Weston and 48 over to Winchester?
Or go on up the road to Bridgeport and take 50 over to Winchester?

Google maps shows the the I-70 route as the fastest, and shortest, but, I don't want to deal with the traffic, the big cities that it goes thru and around.

I also got a summons today, for jury duty, on Monday the 28th, so that is something I will need to change ASAP. I don't mind doing it, but a 2-1/2 week notice is too short to alter my life plans.

Thanks for your help and I hope to be there!

My understanding is that they are $2 each. i would prefer to mail out at least 3 at a time but will make exceptions. Please let me know if you want some and I will mail them for that price plus your shipping cost. What ever it will be ? Don, please let me know what to do with the money collected? Send it to you or Send it to John towards helping this website operate ?
