Should I remove the the rust somehow? Next since I have the rear torn down I noticed that there are bearings in the pumpkin. Should I replace them? If so what is involved does it take special tools etc.? | | | | Joined: Oct 2006 Posts: 4,983 Master Gabster | Master Gabster Joined: Oct 2006 Posts: 4,983 | Not only special tools but special know how as well. I would not attempt it. I am sure there are plenty of qualified shops near by that would do the work. There are guys here that do their own differential repair. They would probably tell you the same thing.

Patience, and attention to what your doing. I'm sure someone here can guide you along the way. RUST: I would try to run some type wire brush up in the housing to dislodge all the rust you can to prevent it from later falling and getting into the bearing/seals as well as the rear end itself. | | | | Joined: May 2005 Posts: 27 Wrench Fetcher | Wrench Fetcher Joined: May 2005 Posts: 27 | Big Chevy 3600,

so the calipers and brackets just bolt onto the flange from the rear end? what year is the rear?
also, do they have a parking brake?
i ask because i have an 8.5" 10-bolt from a nova, and have been looking for a cheap rear disc solution.

These 2002 Camaro/Firebird discs just bolt right up to the flange. It is a bolt on like it was made for it. The parking brake lever works very well and should be easy to set up to any config you need. I bought these on Ebay.

When I look at your Webshots I didn't see the e-brake. Does the calipers have e-brakes? Also you said you got them from Ebay. Did you buy them from a supplier or an individual? | | | | Joined: Sep 2004 Posts: 148 Member | Member Joined: Sep 2004 Posts: 148 | can they fit a 15" wheel, or is the minimum a 16"?

i have a nova clip, and i was looking at the stainless steel brakes force 10 direct replacement calipers. they are a dual 43mm piston caliper that uses the stock 11" rotor. i am afraid that the brake bias will be too much to the rear, i guess i can compensate with a prop. valve, but i would rather find some bigger front brakes to match, that don't cost an arm and a leg.

My front Discs came with my Heidt's IFS (5 lug) and will match the rear. Guys sorry I took so long to reply.
