For those that have a CPP, firewall mount, disc/disc master cylinder, what is the real world application/replacement for the master cylinder? Would I be correct in assuming something Corvette? I bought his thing back in 2006 or so? Should be CPP part #4753FBB4.

Why not call CPP?? Oh, you know. The usual internet chat of how difficult they are, multiple problems with their product, etc., etc.

When I did my conversion on my '65, years prior I had bought what I thought would be the correct master cylinder for my application. I mean it was part of a kit, so of course it was correct....pssshhhh. Then when I actually wanted to install it, I realized the MC was for disc/disc as you stated, and it was supposedly for corvette. I called them and they said it would work fine with rear drums, and to replace all the rear lines with the 1/4" lines. I didn't believe them. Why would regular disc/drum MC's have a big reservoir for the disc and a small one for the drums, and 1/4" lines for the disc and 5/16" for the drums? Or is 5/16" and 3/8"? I digress. I wanted disc/drum, so I went with a MC for an '81 C20 and the truck stops great. I didn't answer your question, or did i?...lol... Seriously, though, CPP! How do they stay in business...

Yeah, I hopped in the other day and started losing pedal. I still need to put a three pound check valve in the rear system as the Cadillac calipers tend to roll the pistons in between stops. So, I've had the thing for over 16 years and I'm still fine tuning it???? So it goes. Lol.

Bleeding the brakes didn't help bring back more pedal?

Haven't gotten that far. When I'm done painting my daily driver, I'll concentrate on the Burb. They were working fine through June and July as as late as last week.

CPP are tricky dudes. They have the MC made in China, like they all are, with their logo on the side. Seems like you only need the MC. My guess is the "Corvette" part is the booster. To get a small package. As far as the MC, any MC that fits the bolt pattern, the locating diameter nose and the bore, would work. Seems like the GM manual brake MC is 1"and the power is 1 1/8. May or may not be a factor but measuring yours will tell. The MC mounting holes are slotted to fit a 3 1/8- 3 3/8 spread. The fact that they are slotted tells you it's the locating diameter into the booster that centers the MC, not the mounting studs. The rest of the MC installation is just plumbing. You know most of this already. Just going over it. Anyway depending on if you need a super short MC body, maybe a "universal" will work.

Maybe THIS or equivalent. Read all the notes.

The part number for 68-76 Corvette MC is the same. changes in 77, but I think it's because the casting has dual bleeders. All those Vettes had disc/disc and 1 1/8 bore MC. The 68-76 is Raybestos MC39018 Power and MC36367 for Manual. Some masters have a "built in" valve that may conflict with a CPP external valve.

I'll have to do some digging. It is a 1 1/8" bore. If I remember correctly, the outlets were metric. Not a problem if I have to make new short lines to the valve. I'll start getting serious about it pretty soon.
