Currently finishing rebuilding door glass on 1954 chevy 3100 my problem is vent window . Replaced vent window handle tapped roll pin into handle open &close work handle and pin works out what's wrong what did I do wrong or what am I missing . this sounds like a dumb question THANKS IN ADVANCED !!!!!!!! | | | | Joined: Dec 2001 Posts: 14,522 Moderator: Welcome Centre, Southern Bolters, Legion Hall | Moderator: Welcome Centre, Southern Bolters, Legion Hall Joined: Dec 2001 Posts: 14,522 | Try the next size up on roll pins......if the next size up is to big then take the one you have and drive a small round punch into the roll pin to spread it which will make the it fit tighter in the hole. You may have to round one end off a little to get it started but this will work......I've did it a couple times myself. | | | | Joined: Mar 2005 Posts: 209 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2005 Posts: 209 | Just a word of caution. Use something to back up the handle if you try to spread the pin in the hole, ( I have seen guys snap the shaft off by being overzelous! Also, the easiest way I found to install the roll pins was by using a small pair of channellock style pliers to press them in.
