I heard that some 59 chevy panels came with a 283ci V8. Is there a special bellhousing that will let you bolt a 62 or later engine to the origional 3sp? Will a 60s truck bellhousing work with the stock clutch pedal and linkage? Will a granny low truck 4 sp bolt to the stock 235 3sp bellhousing? still trying to figure it out please help if you can. Thanks

216, 235 and 261 engines will bolt up to the original bell-housing.
There are bell-housings that will allow you to mount the `63 and later inline engines to the tranny you have.(some alteration may be needed on the linkage depending on which housing you use and which clutch you use.
The SM420 4-speed tranny will bolt up to the housing you have.
