For my '50 3800 I purchased a harness from Brillman. https://brillman.com/I would have a hard time believing there is a more original appearing harness than this. The attention to detail is impressive. I have not installed it yet but hope to soon. I am sure I paid less than the number shown above for the YNZ harness as well. I will look it up when I get home from work.

Previous owner installed it. When I hooked up battery for the first time the wire from the ignition switch to the gas gauge melted. Now this harness has red, black, blue, green, orange, brown and white wires. Does anyone know of a wiring diagram for this harness, original diagram doesn't have all these colors. Any ideas or help would be appreciated.

BTW, you got six answers to your gear shift adjustment question. Three of which were very detailed.
You got a couple of answers to your “Bolts” question. Maybe not what you wanted but you got answers.
My suggestion is for you to find and purchase a “Shop Manual” for your truck and look up what you need.

I do have a couple of manuals: Shop manual and How to restore your Chevy pick-up.
I also have an original wiring diagram supplement, but it does not have colors of wires that I have.
I will start a new thread.
