hi all, been a while since i have been on, not sure if my post will make people mad, but gotta ask. i need to learn a few things. i have a 3800 panel truck, i want it to be an easy driver for my wife to yard sale and antique. i am going to put modern suspension on, rear end, brakes 350 crate engine, maybe even power steering and air. the first task is to clip the front end. i have a 72 nova clip which i believe is too wide, a 92 gmc clip also too wide in my opinion, and an s10 clip which i believe might be a little narrow. a friend said to use the s10 with spacers or different back spaced wheels it would cause abnormal wear on the bearings. True???? who has done it??? what clip did you use??? what problems did you have??? I appreciate all responses thanks scott
I'd leave the frame alone. You can convert the front axle to disc brakes without much hassle. You can also find a 4.10 or 4.11 gearset for the rear axle. Put an overdrive transmission behind the 350, plumb up power brakes and steering, install AC, and you'll be good to go.

Ok here is another couple options I have, I have a mustang 2 cross member, a arms, spindles etc, and the same setup for. A 61_66 c10. Both crossmembers are too wide and would have to be narrowed. Would that be a better option?
