| | | | Joined: Sep 2007 Posts: 393 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Sep 2007 Posts: 393 | Today, my son and I were planning to install a new fuel gauge sender for an eventual install of some New Vintage gauges on his '52 1/2 ton panel. We got the tank partially out but the filler neck on the tank got hung up on the frame. Does anyone have any tips for getting the gas tank out of a 1/2 ton panel? It looked like if I removed the driveshaft it would give more movement away from the frame and allow for the neck to clear the frame. We put everything back together with no leaks but now it won't start. (Heading over to the HiPo forum for help with that.) Thanks in advance.

Loosen the clamps on the rubber hose in between the filler neck and the neck of the tank.
It should drop out without the filler neck attached, mine will on my 1951 suburban.

It's a small world, but I wouldn't want to paint it.
