I am currently converting my 1955 first series Chevy truck from a 6v to a 12v. i am currently at the steering wheel column. There are 2 sets of three wires coming out of the column. One set has a dark blue, yellow and light blue wire. The second set has a white, pink and purple wire. Looks like the dark blue and yellow wire go to the front blinkers. The second set looks like it goes to the rear of truck. I posted the diagram as well to help those who can help me understand what I am seeing. Can someone help and tell me what each of the colored wires are labeled for, so i can ensure i wire my truck correctly. Thank you

That is all turn signal switch wiring. There should be a more complete wiring diagram somewhere around. Your 12V conversion should be putting in new light bulbs and headlights, gas gauge, heater blower motor, and radio if I remember correctly.

Some of theses pages/diagrams might be helpfu, especially the color codes for wires?

You will need a Runtz-style reducer if you are going to use (and, not destroy) the original 6v fuel gauge.

If you have the cup type turn signal assembly under the steering wheel. (check attached)
The wiring should be what I have below.

dark blue = right front signal light
yellow = Flasher L terminal
light blue = left front signal light

white = brake light switch
pink = left rear signal light
purple = right rear signal light

Flasher terminals
X = power fused
P = Pilot light in between the 0 and 90 on speedometer gauge
L = turn signal switch Yellow wire

Note: If you have a 12 volt electrical system you need a 12 volt flasher.
