I wonder about a new tank from one of the truck parts places or a custom aluminum tank. the price for custom will be a bit higher but may last longer. '37 GMC T-18 w/ DD 4-53T, RTO-610, 6231 aux., '95 GMC running gear, full disc brakes, power steering, 22.5 wheels and tires.
'47 GMC 1 ton w/ 302, NP-540, 4wd, full width Blazer front axle.
'54 GMC 630 w/ 503 gasser, 5 speed, ex fire truck, shortened WB 4', install 8' bed.
'55 GMC 370 w/270, 420 4 speed, grain, dump bed truck from ND. Works OK.

Their pricing and service was excellent. I removed and installed the tanks. I have had no problems for about 20 years. | | | | | Joined: Jan 2008 Posts: 360 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jan 2008 Posts: 360 | If you are interested in reusing the old tank, check with a local radiator shop. Some of them will also do gas tanks. I had my 46 tank done by a local shop back in NJ. They asked if it was going to be a show truck, as there process was a little different if the truck is being graded. But for a daily driver, they cut an access hole in the tank, cleaned it, re welded the tank, and sealed it. I think it was $100 10 years ago.
