Nearly done!

Engine swap is complete and running. Tested with a little back and forth. Even checked the hoist and it works. Next is to bleed the brakes and go for a test drive! smile Then the lights and all the little things.

By the way, what do you think the US number for a 9700 would be? Maybe a 450? This is a "3 ton".

That is a nice truck. It looks like it is ready to take on any job, no matter how big!

Almost - I took it for a test drive and the clutch is slipping. The one on the other engine is no good.
Time to disconnect it again and take the old clutch off to find another.
Other than that, it works well, though I think the brakes could be better.

Replace the throwout bearing for sure and check the pilot bearing while in there.

For sure.

Thanks!

More pics.

By the way, what should I name the old beast? I already have Arrow, Vandura and Jimmy, but this doesn't have a name, like Chevy's Loadmaster.

I had a '53 GMC fire truck with 302, 6.6 gears, installed a 5831 Brownie, drove it all over, really enjoyed it.

5831's come with .73 and .85 OD ratios, depending on following 'letter' , A, B, C, etc.

Got my alternator issue fixed. Now all ready and running great! smile
Now just a bunch of lesser but still important things, first being hooking up the wiper system, get the clearance lights working, the speedometer, adding a voltmeter and changing the one tire. Then its just a bunch of little things, though I should change the driver's side windshield some day.
