I've been taking my '56 GMC F350 apart. The last thing to come out of the cab is the headlight switch. I can't feel a button ,like the Chevy switch. Can someone school me on removing the GMC headlight switch? THANKS
Does the switch look like what it is supposed to look like per Chevy replacement switch pics? Should be the same as Chevy. Unless Big Bolts are different or a PO did something different. The pick-up truck switches are the same as Chevy. Get a mirror to be sure there is no button on bottom or top of switch body. Just in case, carefully examine the knob for a set screw.

My '57 big bolt has an original style if not THE original headlight switch. I had trouble finding the release button also, turns out the button was stuck in the "in" position and once I put more pressure on it I was able to remove the knob. I ended up taking the switch apart and cleaned and lubed it, has been working well since.

Thanks for the help. I took a mirror out there this morning but it didn't help. So I felt around very carefully and FOUND the button ! Now the cab is totally empty. I have the front clip off, engine is on a stand just waiting.
